Our disability employment management services include recruitment support, pre-screening assistance, workplace assessments and guidance in accessing financial incentives. We work with employers to help them with issues such as under-performing staff, staff at risk of losing employment or staff requiring on the job support or further training.
FREE Recruitment Services
CIM Employment by Altius offers a single point of contact for the recruitment process, including providing employee pre-screening and scheduling job interviews. Our vocational assessment tools ensure employers receive only appropriate referrals for interviewing.
Work Assist Program
The Work Assist Program is free to employers and eligible employees who are having difficulty fulfilling the essential requirements of their role due to their injury, disability or health condition. Our services support employees in managing their physical and mental health through a wide range of innovative, integrated allied health services and workplace-based assistance.
We match specific employee needs with appropriate allied health services to deliver a tailored approach to managing their injury, disability or health condition - improving their workplace tolerances, capabilities and productivity.
Guidance on Wage Subsidies
We help employees navigate how to apply for financial assistance to employ our job seekers. We provide guidance to employers on how to establish traineeship and apprenticeship opportunities for job seekers as well as advice on mature age wage subsidies.
Workplace Assessments, Training and Health Management
To help employers ensure they are providing a safe workplace for long term, sustainable employment outcomes, we provide hazardous manual task training, ergonomics training and injury prevention services. We also provide employee health management programs covering back care and nutrition.
Work Placement Support
CIM Employment by Altius provides ongoing support after recruitment, offering employees continued access to our allied health services.
Support for Workers
For those struggling to maintain employment to sustain their job placement, we offer a range of support services including work site visits for on the job support and access to our support outside of normal business hours.
Employer Support and Job Redesign
We are able to advocate on an employee’s behalf with their employer to help them resolve issues that may be impacting on their work. This may involve providing assistance to modify tasks they may be struggling with, arranging further training to help make their job easier and arranging workplace modifications.
Physical Health and Fitness Support
Our allied health professionals provide musculoskeletal and spinal assessments, physiotherapy support appointments and equipment, educational programs and support to manage any physical limitations an employee may have affecting their work. We offer tailored programs to help employees maintain their health and fitness including education on pain management and support to improve mobility and physical capability for work.
Psychological Support
We support employees struggling at work with mental health programs which include personal goal setting and strategies to manage mental health while working.
Pain Management
We support employees to manage their pain at work and provide individual programs to suit each employee’s condition. We understand that pain is complex and employees with a strong understanding of pain experience more positive work outcomes. By empowering employees with pain education we can also help minimise fear avoidance at work.
Workplace Modifications
Our allied health team assess work environments and advise on redesign requirements. We also support workplaces with administrative support for workplace modifications.
Supporting Job Seekers
We offer free access to job search assistance, career development support and allied health services for job seekers, with a focus on helping persons with a disability, injury, physical health condition, mental health condition, parents returning to the workforce, indigenous job seekers and mature age Job Seekers.
Supported Job Search
CIM Employment by Altius supports job seekers through its Job Club – providing access to job searching resources and tailored job searching support.
Interactive Job Seeking Portal
Our Job Seeker Portal connects job seekers to a wide variety of on-line job searching resources including training and education opportunities and community support resources. Job Seekers can set up a personalised job searching portal, to help them interact personally to job searching tools, establish alerts and receive notifications relevant to their own search.
Job Matching Support
We carry out vocational assessments to help individuals navigate their future career or return to work direction. Through interviews and standardised assessments we gather valuable information about an individual’s previous employment, education, achievements and interests - to analyse their aptitudes and abilities and establish their transferable skills.
Our specialists will also recommend re-training when deemed necessary to achieve an agreed goal. All our recommendations are realistic, supported by labour market research and tailored to the individual.
We have experience assisting clients with a range of challenges with job application support including help to develop a resume, interview training and support overcoming the challenges of applying for positions. Our team provides personalised job matching support to help individuals secure employment for the longer term.

CIM Employment by Altius provides ongoing support while their placements are working including support with ongoing personal and professional development with continued access to our allied health services.
Indigenous Employment Support
We provide cultural mentoring and advice and help establish connections with the local indigenous community.
Work Experience and Further Education Opportunities
We organise fully supported work experience placements to help job seekers obtain new skills and trial new work environments to assist with the long term employment. To help job seekers upskill, we provide linkages to training providers, access to short courses and advice on further education options.
Psychological Services
CIM Employment by Altius offers job seekers assistance and support with developing a mental health support program, which can provide motivational assistance, help with personal goal setting and assistance with managing anxiety and depression.
Physiotherapy, Gym and Hydrotherapy Treatment
Our team of allied health professionals provide musculoskeletal and spinal assessments, physiotherapy support appointments and equipment and educational programs. We run tailored gym and hydrotherapy sessions to assist individuals with pain and health management and to help improve mobility and physical capability.
Health Care Programs
We have developed health care programs to empower individuals to take care of their health and wellbeing, focusing on issues such as back care, nutrition and correct manual handling.

CIM Employment by Altius delivers the Disability Employment Services - Disability Management Service (DES-DMS) which is fully funded by the Department of Social Services. The DES-DMS program provides support to people with a disability, injury or health condition to prepare for, find and keep a job. Register directly with CIM Employment by Altius: Looking for work when living with an injury, health condition or disability can start to feel overwhelming especially if the search is taking longer than expected. Contact Us and one of our team members will contact you to begin your journey with our service. We can help you with an Employment Services Assessment with Centrelink if you are required to complete one.
Transfer to CIM Employment by Altius: If you are currently receiving support from another Disability Employment Service (DES), you can transfer immediately to CIM Employment by Altius via the National Customer Service Line, Ph: 1800 805 260, [email protected]
Register with us through Centrelink: Call the Centrelink employment services line and tell them you want to register as looking for work, or visit your local Centrelink office. Request CIM Employment by Altius as your Disability Employment Service (DES) provider and they will create an appointment time for you to meet our team.

CIM Employment by Altius delivers the Work Assist Program to support workers who are struggling to maintain their employment. This program offers the following support to eligible workers:

1. Talk to Your Employment Consultant
This can be done face to face or over the phone (1300 133 758), in writing, email [email protected] or by contacting us directly. You can also have an advocate, friend or family member present at any time during a discussion with a CIM Employment staff member. The CIM Employment staff member will assist you with all aspects in submitting program feedback, suggestions or complaints.
2. Ask to Speak to the General Manager
If you feel your concerns have not been heard, you may wish to contact our office to have a discussion with the General Manager. You can call our service any time on 1300 133 758 and ask to speak with the General Manager regarding your concerns.
3. Contact the Complaints Referral and Resolution Service (CRRS)
If you are not happy with this procedure, or would like to discuss your matter with an organisation separate to CIM Employment, then the Complaints, Resolution and Referral Service (CRRS) can be contacted using the following details:

4. Contact the Department of Social Services
If you are not happy with the service provided by CIM Employment you can contact the DSS Customer Service Line on 1800 805 260 (free call from landlines) to submit Complaints, Compliments or Suggestions. A CIM Employment Staff Member can also provide you with a Complaints, Compliments and Suggestions Form which you can email to DSS if you would like.
