Derick Borean

Chief Executive Officer

Derick Borean is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Altius Group, an organisation founded in 2001 providing specialist support, guidance and partnership to help organisations and their people realise their health potential.

The Altius Group employs over 350 health professionals delivering services including workplace wellbeing, injury prevention, employee assistance and rehabilitation from over 35 locations across Australia. Recognised as an industry leader in innovation, clinical expertise and the science of behaviour, Altius continues to achieve industry leading outcomes. Altius is the 2017 winner of the Australian Company Growth Awards in Health and Life Sciences as well as the 2017 icare Award for Excellence in Improving Employer Performance.

Since completing undergraduate studies in Occupational Therapy at Sydney University, Derick has worked across a range of clinical settings including surgical, sub-acute trauma, aged, mental health, sport and in paediatric wards. His career in workplace health, recovery and wellness has extended for over 17 years, including four years of international experience in the United States. In 2013 he completed his Master’s in Business specialising in Personal Injury through Deakin University. He is the President of the Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association in NSW and the inaugural winner of the ARPA National Exceptional Leadership Award in 2017.

An engaging speaker with a drive to inspire excellence in the delivery of health services, Derick is highly sought after to share his vision of continuous improvement and innovation across the industry.

Richard Forby

Chairman and Executive Director

Richard oversees corporate services within Altius Group (Finance, IT and Human Resources) as well as acting as Managing Director of Altius Medical.  

After completing studies in psychology, Richard began his allied health services career as an occupational rehabilitation counsellor. He worked in a number of roles for occupational rehabilitation providers within NSW prior to contracting to, and consulting for insurers, primarily GIO workers compensation, where over several year he supported the evolution of their injury management functions in NSW and the ACT.  

Richard also worked as a consultant to both NSW state and local government in return to work and injury management. On a national level he consulted for several years to KONE Elevators, and for two years to HealthCare Australia lead up to sale, injury and workers compensation premium management. He has undertaken self-insurance audits in NSW for both private and government organisations. 

Richard has been Chairman of Rehabilitation Services since inception as a founder of the business. He also founded Psychological Health Interventions, an Employee Assistance Program provider, which later joined Altius Group and today offers extensive organisational and clinical psychological services after being merged into the more recently acquired PeopleSense by Altius. 

Richard enjoys sharing his expertise and passion to make a positive difference to individuals, organisations and society. He is based in Adelaide office, although travels regularly to other city offices. 

John Cosentino

General Manager | OccHealth by Altius

With over 25 years’ experience in exercise physiology, John brings a passion for recovery and wellness to his role as General Manager of OccHealth by Altius. 

John established OccHealth in 1997 to support individuals in their recovery and transform the lives of those faced with injury. In 2007 OccHealth joined with Altius Group, recognised as an industry leader in innovation, clinical expertise and the science of behaviour. Altius Group continues to achieve industry leading outcomes. 

John is an Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP) with a Bachelor in Sports Science from UNSW. He also holds a Diploma of Leadership and Management from the Australian Institute of Management. 

With a passion for motivating people to embrace the idea that rest is not an option, he is driven by the phrase “the only way to get back to normal is to do normal things”. John’s targeted, graded, supported approach to recovery empowers people to realise their health potential. 

Natasha Aitken

General Manager | Rehabilitation Services by Altius

Natasha joined Rehabilitation Services by Altius as an occupational therapist in 2005, bringing with her a knowledge and passion for kinesiology, a holistic view of individuals and a greater understanding of how the brain, cognitive and emotional state of a person can influence their physical abilities.  

Prior to joining Altius Group, Natasha worked as an occupational therapist in Europe and Africa across a range of clinical settings. Natasha enjoys working with Altius Group to continuously evolve services, responding to changing market needs and incorporating innovation, while continuing to care about people, she says “I am always aware we exist because of people – they remain at the centre of what we do and drive our purpose”. 

Natasha is an avid learner as is evident through her long list of qualifications: Team Coaching (2018); Executive Coaching (2017); Diploma of Leadership and Management (2017); Project Management (2016); Mini MBA (2012); Kinesiology (2004) and Occupational Therapy (2001). 

As General Manager of Rehabilitation Services Natasha has been influential in growing both the scope of services and the capabilities of team members. Natasha moved from her team leadership position through to National General Manager due to her ability to empower people. During this time, Rehabilitation Services has grown from a small single site team to a multi-service, multi-state organisation.  

Natasha enjoys applying innovative problem solving skills to drive performance and achieve results. Her personable communication style with team members and customers maintains high levels of engagement and ensures great customer service and satisfaction.  

Dr. Tom Parker

General Manager | PeopleSense by Altius

Dr. Tom Parker, General Manager of Psychological Services at PeopleSense by Altius, has completed a professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Western Australia, specialising in the management of occupational stress, trauma, anxiety and drug and alcohol issues.  

Tom is a fully registered clinical psychologist and has spent the last ten years applying his clinical skills and knowledge within the corporate sector. At PeopleSense by Altius, Tom leads a large team of over 60 psychologists based in most capital cities throughout Australia.  

“It has been fantastic in my role to have seen significant growth in this sector – to be a part of an industry change whereby organisations take greater responsibility and care of their employee’s psychological health”, says Tom. 

Tom is inspired by helping clients to make significant changes through the provision of counselling services, but at the same time he enjoys the experience of organisational growth and providing career development opportunities for key PeopleSense team members.  

As an avid sportsperson, a keen Australian Rules footballer, husband and dedicated father of two young children, Tom values championing a work-life integration philosophy. 

Drew Reese

General Manager | CIM Employment by Altius

As General Manager of CIM Employment, Drew is passionate about delivering holistic, integrated services to employers, workers and people with injury or disability. 

Drew believes being approachable is key to his role as is his drive to achieve positive employment outcomes for all stakeholders - whether you are an employer looking to fill a vacancy, an employee looking to stabilise your employment or a job seeker looking to achieve employment goals. 

With twelve years Disability Employment Services experience and four years of Job Active experience, Drew brings valuable industry experience to his position. Drew holds a Diploma in Leadership from the Australian Institute of Management, a Diploma in Employment Services from Sunshine TAFE QLD and a Diploma in Management from Brisbane North TAFE QLD.  

As General Manager, he enjoys the opportunity to demonstrate his leadership and management skills in a rewarding, team orientated work environment.
